Edwin Allen High School stands as one of Jamaica's most distinguished secondary institutions, proudly serving the community of Frankfield, Clarendon since 1964. What began as a modest comprehensive high school with 356 students and 30 teachers has evolved into a world-renowned educational powerhouse, serving over two thousand students across a modern, multi-building campus equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including science laboratories, computer centers, and solar-powered administrative buildings.
Named in honor of Edwin Allen, a visionary former Jamaican Minister of Education, our school embodies his commitment to providing broad and inclusive secondary education opportunities. Under the dedicated leadership of Principal Mr. Jermaine Harris, we offer comprehensive academic programs preparing students for CSEC and CAPE examinations across sciences, mathematics, languages, social sciences, technical education, and information technology.
While we maintain the highest academic standards with students consistently achieving top regional examination results, Edwin Allen High School has gained international recognition for our exceptional athletics program. Our track and field teams have dominated the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys' and Girls' Athletics Championships, producing world-class athletes who compete successfully on international stages including the Penn Relays.
For six decades, we have remained true to our motto 'Transeamus in Exemplum' - we shall be an example - graduating well-rounded individuals who excel in education, business, athletics, science, technology, and public service, contributing meaningfully to Jamaica and the global community.
